"Calico King"

This is just one example of the displays for the annual "Wild Salmon on Parade" at the State Fair. The originality of the work and the clever titles for the fish make it hard to decide which one to feature, even on this website.

These salmon are works of art and can be seen in Anchorage, during the summer months, in the parks, in stores or along various streets. The culminating event happens in September, at an auction and dinner where it's possible to bid on one of these beauties and take it home with you. The funds raised for this go to a variety of causes.
