Mount Griggs, With a Fresh Coat of Snow
The King Salmon airstrip's approach lights are in the foreground. Mount Griggs is on the horizon. Mount Griggs is 7602 feet high, part of the Aleutian Range, on the Alaska Peninsula. It is an active volcano with fumaroles at the summit crater. It is located in the heart of Katmai National Park, about 60 miles from King Salmon.
