Johnny Jump-Up or Viola cornuta (Violaceae)
This Johnny Jump-up grew up in a crack in the sidewalk and managed to bloom. It has since succumbed to the frost.
It is also known as a "Viola Tri-color," This popular little plant is recognized by its cheery face of purple, yellow, and white. It is native to France and Spain. Mythology says that it was once a pure white flower, until it was wounded with one of Cupid’s arrows.
