Beautiful but Deadly

This is the most common toxic mushroom in Alaska. It is known as "Fly Amanita" (Amanita muscaria). It is extremely poisonous.

Its bright color is enticing. This mushroom looks like those seen in fairy tale illustrations. Children should be educated about the mushroom’s toxicity and warned away from any location containing amanitas.
