The Quail

This photo of the Quail was taken in Anacortes in 2003. The tug Quail was built on the ways at Diamond J - APA (Koggiung) Kvichak and completed in 1941 or 1942. Charlie Herrmann, a German emigrant from Hamburg, designed, lofted and oversaw the construction. The Quail is about 70 feet long and is presently in use in Anacortes, Washington.
