The tug Quail was built on the ways at Diamond J - APA (Koggiung) Kvichak. It was completed in 1941 or 1942. Charlie Herrmann, a German emigrant from Hamburg, designed, lofted and oversaw the construction. Charlie also built this museum quality model of the Quail which he completed in about 1952. The Quail is about 70 feet long and is presently in use in Anacortes, Washington. The model is about 36 inches long.
