Frank B. Smith, Superintendent, Naknek Packing Company, with Canine Friend

Mr. Smith and his family were the first to occupy the cannery superintendent's brand new house on the Naknek River. He was superintendent until the late 1920s. Several photos of that house have appeared on this website. March 26, 2005 and May 2, 2005.

(The National Geographic Society, in its Katmai Expeditions. Photographs, 1913-1919 referred to a photo of it as the "Summer bungalow belonging to Mr. Frank Smith, Sup[erintenden]t of the Naknek Packing Co."
