| This remote National Cemetery is surrounded by beautiful mountains and the waters of Sitka Bay. The National Cemetery Administration honors veterans with final resting places in national shrines and with lasting tributes that commemorate their service to our nation. Sitka can only be visited by air, marine highway or weekly ferry from Seattle, Washington. |

| Each grave has a story. Staff Sergeant Rago, together with four other souls, died in the service of their country during WWII. The military plane in which they were riding crashed near Naknek, AK. Staff Sergeant Rago was 16 days short of his 27th birthday. He is buried in Sitka National Cemetery. |
