Mother Raven on the Nest
This domestic scene was photographed (zoom lens) at Pederson Point. Ravens had been nesting under the dock for several years until they found this location, which is safer and better. Although no one has seen them yet, the chicks have probably hatched because the mother gets off the nest once in awhile now. She is very protective of her young and didn't seem to appreciate people watching her.
Pay careful attention to the black dot in the wall just ahead of her beak. Tomorrow night's photo will explain it for you.
