Many Bristol Bay fishermen are of Italian background, and many of these are from the Pittsburg area of California. This is a photo of a restored Red Salmon sailboat at Pittsburg Memorial Park. It has a plaque listing most of the local fishermen who had fished in the Bay in sailboats.
