This picture was taken during a brief warm spell. The fuel levels in the tanks can be seen because the temperature outside was above freezing, while the fuel in the tanks remained below zero, causing frost to form. The view is from the hard frozen winter trail. The area in the foreground is mostly swamp, which makes for smooth driving in winter but difficult, if not impossible, to walk on in summer.
