Empty Viewing Stand, Brooks Falls

This is one of the two well-known viewing stands in Katmai National Park and Preserve. They are often packed, standing room only, with tourists taking photos of the world famous bears. This photo was taken in February of 2007, though, and all is quiet for the winter. Things will be different in a few months. See May 1, 2005.
