Tired Iron (Vintage Snow Machines ) Races Are Coming Up

The Tired Iron races were moved up to next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, March 17 and 18 in hopes that it might get warmer in Fairbanks by then.

Some of the rules and regulations include the following: The older the driver, and the older the sled, the earlier their specific departure time. For more information on this interesting event, go to Tired Iron .

The driver, owner, and refurbisher of this machine (above) is a longtime bush Alaska school teacher. Included in the many places he has taught was South Naknek, in the early 1970s. The machine is a 1966 Montgomery Wards Snow Hopper.
