| This picture is looking north from the top of the water tower, showing the small lake next to the landing strip. Also visible are the ways, the pile driver and some scows. The sailboat and skiffs in the lake were put there shortly after the carpenters and machinists arrived in the spring. The purpose of this was to soak up some water and seal the leaks so the boats would be floating when the season opened. |
