Superintendent's House, Naknek Packing/Red Salmon

This was taken from the river side of Naknek Trading, looking almost directly west. The house was located between the Naknek Packing Cannery (now True Value Hardware) and Monsen's (which can be seen in the background on the right). The small house on the right with the dark door was "Little Joe's" house. He was the gardener/caretaker for the superintendent. The superintendent's house was torn down in the 1940's and used to build another house by the airfield. This was a fairly fancy house -- you can see the curved balusters on the outside stairs as some evidence of this. Little Joe's house was moved up the hill and is still there, about 60 or 70 feet west of Monsen house.
