The Puffin, 1978

This is a sister ship to the Pelican (and Petrel and Penguin). Refer to the photos of March 12, 13, and 14 of this year for photos of the Pelican. This photo gives the viewer an idea of what these scows looked like in the late 1970s. It's said that they are still pretty much the same today except for the tanks that now reside on the decks.

These scows may also have been referred to as "Golden Slippers." This was possibly in reference to the times when the fish box and deckhouse were painted yellow and the hulls red.
