| Bear on the Move | ||
| Alaskan Brown Bears can get from one point to the other very quickly. They have been clocked at 35 miles per hour on short spurts and they can climb steep inclines much better than most ATV's (all terrain vehicles). They are also powerful swimmers. The moral of the story is you can't easily outrun them, so don't get yourself in that situation. | ||
| This photo was snapped during the annual 6th grade trip to Katmai National Park and Preserve, Brooks Camp. Every year the Brooks Camp trip is the one of the culminating activities of Bristol Bay Borough Schools' 6th graders. The US Park Service presents a "bear school" to visitors to educate them on how to coexist with the bears while in the Park. | ||
