Naknek in Approximately 1959

This westward view is familiar to most people who have been in Naknek. The main street through the village of Naknek is officially known as the Alaskan Peninsula Highway. The tallest building on the horizon (to the left of the road) is the hotel building. Across the street (photo right to the hotel), with the pointed roof, also just above the horizon, is the house featured the past two days. Note the street was not paved.
