| Hanging the Lead Line | ||

| Lead line used by setnetters is usually much heavier than that used by drifters. Setnets have to be held fast in the current and the heavier leads help hold them down deeper. Drift nets drift with the current and thus are always in slack water. The lead line (above) weighs 300 pounds per 100 fathoms. | ||
