Entering Adolescence
This young raven and siblings probably hatched around the middle of May. See the photos beginning with May 17-18, then June 4-6, and finally June 24-25, 2006.
He isn't fully grown, but he and his three siblings are now traveling all around the Pederson Point Cannery. Living in the crowded nest for the past two months has resulted in their somewhat disheveled appearance. That will go and they will soon be full-grown and sleek.
They are extremely active and curious birds. Anyone who observes ravens knows how they seem to enjoy exploring and investigating. All ravens seem to love flying, often demonstrating wild aerobatics over the river on windy days. They do flips, somersaults, and free falls through the air, seemingly in unison. This little raven will hopefully grow up to do the same, also.
