Out and About
The young ravens are now out of the nest and flying all around the cannery. In this photo one is on the roof, one perched directly below him, and two on the nest.
It should be interesting to see this family at work. Raven families are a social group and will work together in foraging. It isn't uncommon to see adult ravens team up and distract an eagle while another will snatch away food from it. As was mentioned previously, both parents help raise the offspring. They are still involved in caring for them and providing food.
All the people who have watched this family grow up have enjoyed it immensely. Every effort has been, and still is, made not to disturb the ravens while taking these photos.
