Feeding Time!
This raven family (Common Raven or Corvus corax) lives at Pederson Point. We featured pictures of them on May 17, 2006 and May 18, 2006. If you look carefully, you can see one baby's beak gaping open in the center of the nest. Both parents are busy feeding the chicks.
Raven parents share the responsibility of nest building. Both male and female help rear the young. They are good parents, providing for their chicks for a lengthy time in comparison with other birds. Ravens mate for life, unless the other dies, at which time they will often find another mate.
