Golden Plover Eggs
The Pacific Golden-Plover (Pluvialis dominica) has camouflage on its side, when hiding its nest. This nest, located somewhere in the Naknek vicinity, took researchers a great deal of time and effort to locate. The eggs are proportionately large. The mass of an egg is about 1/4 the mass of the mother. Both parents incubate the eggs, the male during the day and the female at night.
