A Dump, By Any Other Name ...

In Naknek, in the summer, a common way to view our local brown bear is to go to the Borough landfill. Often there are several carloads of bear watchers. It isn't the ideal place for photographs, but bear are almost always around. In this photo there is a female and cub in the forground and a large male just coming over the bales of trash, to the left.
