It Must Be Fishtival Time

There is more happening in Bristol Bay than just fishing and bears. At the end of July, FISHTIVAL happens. It is an annual celebration, held over a span of three days, at the end of the commercial fishing season. All three communities in the Bristol Bay Borough are involved.

The photo above shows an event called the "Mud Race," involving two-person teams. Each of the mud racers is carrying a buoy. This team is also accompanied by Buddy, the dog.
