River Ice, Looking West Toward Naknek

The past few days of warm weather since this picture was taken rounded the sharp edges of the ice. The crossing held during the warm spell, temperatures are dropping again, and the road should last for several weeks. The stake marks the start of the trail. Latest reports were of the ice being up to two feet thick.
