Naknek Bluff from City Dock
Most of the drifting ice has disappeared from the Naknek River due to our current warm spell. King Salmon had the high temperature for the state today with 44 (F) degrees. The large chunks are the last to go. They are too big to float except on the largest of tides, and don't melt for many days. Many of them are around 8 to 10 feet in height.
