Fred and Nina Kraun at Libbyville in 1920
Fred was born in Russia in about 1884. He emigrated to the US when he was about 20 years old. He was working as the cannery watchman in 1920. Nina was born in Ugashik. A lifelong Alaskan. she worked as a commercial fisherwoman, a cannery cook, and as a village midwife, delivering many babies in the Naknek area. Nina, died in 1996, at the age of 93. Many descendants of Fred and Nina were, and are, residence of the Bristol Bay region.
