In extreme cold temperatures like the ones they are experiencing in Bristol Bay, it isn't uncommon for fires to start. The temperature reached a record low temperature of 36 degrees below zero F. on January 24th. In trying to keep things warm, stoves get overheated. There were no reports of any injuries with this fire.

Wind chill readings 25 below to 40 below zero are forecast.
