Slaviq Celebration, South Naknek, 2005

This is part of a series of photos, beginning yesterday, concerning the Orthodox Christmas season and Slaviq. This shows some children, twirling Christmas stars, in a home in South Naknek. People will follow the stars and go from house to house, singing hymns and Christmas songs. Orthodox Christmas is a seven day holiday beginning on January 7th.
