Moose, Deep in Rumination

It is doubtful that this moose is aware that a new year is about to begin. Her thoughts are probably on basic survival and the calf she will have this spring, if all goes well. For now, she is enjoying the tender shoots on the lower branches of the trees and the relatively good weather.
