Overland Trail to Pederson Point
Pederson Point Cannery is in the distance. The lake is named "Hungry's Lake" in honor of L. A. Pederson, founder of Pederson Point (ca. 1890s). Reputedly, he got the name "Hungry" because, it was said, he was hungry for fish to buy and process.
The lake appears to be open water, but there is actually more than a foot of ice covering it. To the foreground right of the photo you can see a trail. This trail is the primary access to the cannery in the wintertime.
