Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus)
Alaska has more Bald Eagles than all the other states combined. The length of an adult eagle, from head to tail, is between 30 and 43 inches. Its wingspan might vary from 6 1/2 to 8 feet, tip to tip. This one is sitting on the bank, with the Bay in the background.
