Sundog Over Naknek
This photo was taken in December, 2003. The term "sun dog" refers to the luminous halos that sometimes appear on either side of the sun. The one you see in the photo is only half of the arc. It's caused by ice crystals forming in the air over the river. The Fisherman's Bar, Naknek, is the building to the right.
