| On November 1st, we had a recent photo of the old Bumble Bee tender "Husky" on this site. The photo above shows what she looked like in 1977. She was the only Bumble Bee scow that never had her deckhouse modified. The sign on the fish box reads, "Improve Quality, Pew Fish in Head." A fish pew looks like a one-tined pitchfork. It was used to pitch fish from the boat into the tender, often causing damage to the fish. Pewing fish was OK for canned fish, but is unacceptable for the frozen fish market of today. |
