The Tootsie, 1977
In the 1920s (or before, perhaps) a "tootsie" meant a babe or a sweetie. The song "Toot, Toot Tootsie (Goo'-Bye)" was written in 1922. The naming of boats is a fascinating thing.
The photo above shows New England Fish Company's tender, the Tootsie. She was a World War II era LCT and made 6 knots, which made for a very slow trip up from Seattle. She was later sold and named the Julie B.
