| Aerial View of Graveyard Cannery |
| This is a view, through a plane window, of what is left of Graveyard Cannery. This cannery was named from Graveyard Creek, which runs by it. We've received information (from a visitor to this site ... thank you, Visitor!) regarding the origin of the Graveyard name. At some time in the past, the waters of either the creek or river had changed course and eroded a local cemetery. Coffins became exposed and had to be moved. | Graveyard is located on the northeast corner of Kvichak Bay and marks the northeast corner of the Kvichak fishing district. | Some of these buildings are occupied by setnetters in the summertime, during the commercial fishing season. |
