Typical Ride on the Beach

A drive on the Naknek beach may be as smooth as a good asphalt road one day and a tooth-jarring, bone-rattling, white-knuckle ride the next. This photo looks like a compromise between the two. The variation in conditions is caused by the tides. With each tide the personality of the beach can change. Hugh rocks and logs can appear and disappear, as well as other interesting the flotsam and jetsam that washes in. You create your own path on days like the one in this photo.
