Dehey Hotel and Restaurant

Yesterday's photo was taken a few weeks ago. This photo was taken of the same building, in the early 1940s, over 60 years ago. The photo is taken from the northwest corner of the building, looking southeast.

John DeHey was the person who had the hotel built. It is possible that he was a cook at the Seversen's Roadhouse in Iliamna prior to coming to Naknek. This building is one of the first things that catches the eye when you arrive in Naknek and serves as a landmark, as well as a hotel and restaurant, to this day.
