| The building to the left is the Red Salmon Store warehouse. Across the Naknek River is South Naknek, and Trident Cannery. This photo was taken at about 5 PM, a time when it's normally still sunny this time of year. The air has been full of smoke for a couple of days and many people have been complaining of discomfort. As of this past week, more than 5.5 million acres in Alaska have burned this summer. There are still 96 fires going. We don't know which fire is affecting us, but it is probably 200 miles or more away from here. |
