A Look Back in Time
Libbyville Cannery, northwest of Naknek, is rapidly disappearing. This is a look back at the old fuel tank, featured in yesterday's photo. It was adapted, at least one fishing season, as a shelter in which a setnetter lived. Beyond it can be seen a scow with two buildings on it. There is a blue tent frame and another small cabin, which were used as setnet cabins. These were recently destroyed by fire, as was shown in Tuesday's photo. In the foreground of this photo are boilers. They were once used to produce steam required for the canners.
