Ingenuity
While working on the new addition to the South Naknek Church, they found a homemade shovel. It is very heavy and was possibly used with a coal stove. The handle is 14" long and made of a flatiron. The shovel part is 6.5 by 7 inches. It is made of bent flatiron and riveted, with no welding. It is an example of needing something, and either using materials at hand or doing without.
