Common Fireweed (Epilobium angustifolium), Naknek, Alaska
The fireweed is particularly thick this year, which some say means lots of snow this winter. Fireweed's name comes from its ability to come back quickly after fires burn away all other vegetation. It often gets established in disturbed sites.
