So that's where my tulips went! And now my rose bush .....

This photo was taken about two weeks ago in Anchorage, Alaska. It can be a shock to open your front door and find an enormous, and unpredictable, herbivore like this, chowing down.

A moose can stand six to seven feet tall at the withers (the high part of the back, located between the shoulder blades). On average males weigh around 1400 pounds, and females weigh around 950 pounds. Moose encounters can be very dangerous.
