| The Old Oil Dock Below the Monsen House |
| This photo is taken in about 1937 (probably in the fall, after the cannery crews left) from on the oil dock. The dock is being dismantled. It has three 53 gallon and two 100 gallon oil drums in the foreground. The crew consists of (from left to right) Martin Monsen (Sr.), Victor Monsen, Carl Monsen, Harold Monsen, and Taddy Monsen. In the background you can see Naknek Packing and, on the dock, wood bluestone tanks for treating the cotton gillnets. |
